Faith Driven Consumer Featured on ‘Hour of Power’

Millions worldwide tune in to hear Chris Stone discuss biblical stewardship

Recently, Faith Driven Consumer Founder, Chris Stone, appeared on the well-known show, “Hour of Power,” with host Bobby Schuller to discuss biblical stewardship and the Faith Driven Consumer movement.

In this seven-minute segment taped at Shepherd’s Grove Church in Garden Grove, California, and airing on June 15th, Stone agreed with Schuller that “every dollar we spend is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in.”

Stone goes on to say that “being a faith driven consumer is an opportunity to consider where we shop and who we do business with.” He says that with “the money we transact in exchange for goods and services, those companies use that money for their own purposes.” For Faith Driven Consumers, the question is, “Are those purposes in alignment with God’s will? And if they are, those are faith-compatible companies. And if they aren’t, those are less-than-faith-compatible companies.”

According to Stone, “We live in a transparent world, and in this world there are a lot of feedback mechanisms, and we simply provide feedback to companies and say that these are the things that as consumers driven by our faith, these are the things that we need and that we want, and it’s an opportunity to bring those companies and those consumers together.”

The bottom line: How can we honor and glorify the Lord in the course of our day-to-day activities?

“We’re simply applying a biblical worldview as the filter through which we make our decisions,” says Stone. And Schuller agrees:  “The way we spend our money says a lot about our worldview.”
