PETITION TO THE A&E NETWORK DEMANDING THE IMMEDIATE REINSTATEMENT OF DUCK DYNASTY’S PHIL ROBERTSON — #ISTANDWITHPHIL

IStandWithPh.jpg

Dear A&E Network,

I am writing to you regarding your network's intolerant, discriminatory, and punitive treatment of Mr. Phil Robertson, star of A&E's #1 hit show, Duck Dynasty.

Mr. Robertson’s comments in GQ Magazine are simply reflective of a Biblical view of sexuality, marriage, and family – a view that has stood the test of time for thousands of years and continues to be held by the majority of Americans and today’s world as a whole.

Many members of the LGBT community may not agree with this view, but the notion that a free-thinking American should be discriminated against simply for expressing a perspective that is in conflict with another is patently un-American and flies in the face of true tolerance and civility. A&E's position, which in your own words is “championing” the gay and lesbian community — which I believe you have the freedom to do — excludes the views of Faith Driven Consumers and effectively censors a legitimate viewpoint held by the majority of Americans.

As a Faith Driven Consumer, I am signing this petition to demand that my views be treated with equality and respect in America’s rich rainbow of diversity.

I am asking your network to immediately reinstate Mr. Robertson to Duck Dynasty, and to formally apologize to him, his family, and the millions of viewers who tune in every week, stand by him, and share his worldview. While the LGBT community may be offended by his opposing viewpoint, your rash, discriminatory, and unfair treatment toward Mr. Robertson — a recognized symbol of the faith community — is a slap in the face to Faith Driven Consumers and everyday Americans alike.

There are 46 million Faith Driven Consumers in America today who spend 1.75 trillion dollars annually. Should you refuse to equally respect and welcome our legitimately held views, we will gladly stop watching this and all other A&E programming and turn to any reformulation of Duck Dynasty on another network – while simultaneously supporting brands that stand with the show and the Robertson family.

Signed,

John Q. Public

I have no problem with homosexuality, but I do have a problem with someone not being able to speak their mind. He did so in a non hateful way. He is a great role model. I will not watch the show any longer if Phil is not brought back on.

The pro-homosexual lobby demands tolerance to all things “gay”, but let a Christian speak, and their 1st amendment rights are now existent! They must be destroyed! Time for this to STOP! SHAME ON A&E! The Robertson’s should walk to the nearest next Network!

Matthew 5:10 "You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom. 11 "Not only that – count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. 12 You can be glad when that happens – give a cheer, even! – for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble. 13 "Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. 14 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. 15 If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. 16 Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

It is time that we, as Christians, take a stand. It is time to step forward, and tell the world that we deserve the same rights and privileges as the atheist, or the homosexual, or the muslim. We have a right to our beliefs, just as all others, who believe differently, have a right to their beliefs, too. We need to do it in a Christ like manner, but we need to do it. We can hate homosexuality, but we can love the homosexual. We can hate atheism, but love the atheist. We can pray for each person who believes differently, to begin to understand the words of the Bible, just as they hope that I come to believe in their way of life. But, I don’t have to support or condone it. If I choose to not bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple, then go to a baker that will. Don’t force me to do something I don’t believe in. If I came into your shop, and you told me that because I am a Christian, you could not serve me, then I would go to a shop of one who does. I would much rather support one who believes in God, than one who does not. It’s my choice. Just as it is yours. I have that same right to choose, as you do. Stop forcing your will upon me.

How can you justify the punishment of Christians by limiting their access to those who show the same beliefs. They have the freedom to change the channel if it bothers them that much. I’m not sure if you realize this or not but your viewing demographic on all of your “featured” shows is hardly comprised of those complaining in the LGBT community. For shame A&E… for shame

You speak of tolerance where is the tolerance now? Just as homosexuals have the right to speak out so do we as Christians.

I can no longer support A&E, until Phil Robertson is reinstated. If he’ll let you after the stunt you have pulled. You must not realize that by trying to appease a small minority you have offended the majority.

Bashing someone is not okay, but expressing your faith in a professional manner (as Phil did) is absolutely the right way to tell someone/a group that you disagree with something. If you are a Christian, then you know that it’s wrong and against God’s teachings. However, it’s not our job to judge, but to bring God’s TRUTH to light. Love the sinner, not the sin. It’s everyone’s own responsibility to choose to live for Christ or deny Christ and live accordingly. But NEVER STOP SPREADING THE TRUTH!!! GO PHIL!

Phil did not say anything about the guy’s, this was not his opinion !!!!!! He was just repeating what God has said all along. The United State was founded on God’s word , the use of the word Christian is over used. The question is do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ ?
